There’s no way to ease into this so I’m just going to lay it all out there. Reddit user IncrediblyShinyShart shared a story of a motorcycle crash that resulted in the amputation of his foot and his one question to the doctor was, “Can I keep it?” The doctor said yes.
According to Vice, on Sunday, July 10, 2016, three weeks after the accident, IncrediblyShinyShart invited 10 friends to brunch. They drank mimosas, ate cake and (you know what’s coming right….?) fajita tacos made from IncrediblyShinyShart severed leg.
Fun fact: the United States doesn’t have a federal law banning cannibalism and it turns out Idaho is the only state where eating human flesh can land you in prison. Laws specify you can’t obtain it but nothing against eating it.
IncrediblyShinyShart appears to be the one-in-a-million case where cannibalism was not only legal but (gulp) ethical. Wait, I’m not even close to being done, apparently he photographed the process and if you follow the trail from Vice there is a link to the images and the interview they did with him.
