2019 Emmy Noms Announced, ‘Game Of Thrones’ Sets Record

HBO reclaimed the mantle of most nominated network, and ‘Game Of Thrones’ smashed an Emmy record that stood for 25 years.

Back in 1994, ‘NYPD Blue’ earned 26 nominations in a single year. ‘Game Of Thrones’ just notched 32!

Last year, Netflix derailed HBO’s impressive 17-year streak of receiving the most Emmy nominations by a network. That honor returns to HBO.

Other shows receiving a high number of nominations are Amazon’s ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ with 20, HBO’s ‘Chernobyl’ with 19 and NBC’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ with 17 nods. The Primetime Emmys will be held on September 22nd.  See the full list of nominees inside the story link.

Also, ‘Game Of Thrones’ domination of the Supporting Actor categories is kind of ridiculous. Actresses who play Arya, Brienne, Cersei, and Sansa each earned nominations. As did the guys who play Jaime, Theon, and Tyrion. I’m not typing out all their real names. Ain’t nobody got time for that. Either way, fans can debate who deserves the award more, and GoT haters have one more thing to complain about.
