Here’s how a Florida woman used Linkin Park lyrics to dissuade a man from taking his own life.
Orlando Florida’s WKMG reports that a woman prevented a man from jumping off of the ledge of an overpass by using Linkin Park lyrics.
The woman saw the suicidal man on the ledge, parked and got out of her car to help him. A county sheriff’s body camera footage shows the woman sitting on the ledge and calmly speaking to the man. Healthcare worker Christina Settanni can be seen reciting the lyrics to Linkin Park’s “One More Light” saying, “Who cares if one more light goes out? Well, I do.”
The man got off the ledge and wasn’t arrested but rather taken to a mental health facility. Settanni said she stopped because “I’ve been where he is. He needed someone to show they cared.”
Bad decisions and family problems led him to believe suicide was his only option. Cristina Settanni's decision to stop helped save his life. https://t.co/hHOLXRvXGF

Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington took his own life just over two years ago. But even though he’s gone, clearly his art still provides solace to others. If you’re going through something rough, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
